An excerpt from the Minister of Education, Dave Hancock's letter of December 9, 2009...

I would like to take this opportunity to commend your success on your 2009 results. I believe it will be with great pleasure that you share this infromation with your board; namely, your jurisdiction's evaluation in the areas of:

* Education Quality Imporved in 2008 and 2009, resulting in an overall evaluation of Good in both years.

* Drop Out Rate Improved in 2009, reulting in an overall evaluation of Good.

* Citizenship Improved in 2008 and 2009, reulting in an overall evaluation of Good in both years.

* Parental Involvement was High in 2009 with an overall evaluation of Good.

* School Improvment was High and Improved in 2009, resulting in an overall evaluation of Good.

* Provincial Achievement Test (Excellence) Improved in 2006, 2007, 2008 and Improved Signifcantly in 2009 with an overall evaluation of Good in all four years.

* Diploma Examination (Acceptable) was High and Improved in 2009, reulting in an overall evaluation of Good.

* Diploma Examiniation (Excellence) was High in 2009 with an ovrall evaulation of Good.

While a school makes the most direct contribution to the success of its students, jurisdictional leadership from the locally elected board members and the district's central office makes a significant contribution as well. I encourage you to continue the good work you are doing in your communities in applying the most effective practices for achieving these results.
